This works for BMX and BB, just a quick way to seperate month sate and year all in integer format

Function currentyear(date$=Currentdate())

Local tstr$,tyear
tstr$ = Mid(date$,8,4)
tstr$ = Trim(tstr$)
tyear = Int(tstr$)
Return tyear
